The Avrum Katz Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-profit foundation started in 1993 in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2005, a Florida National Donation Center was added. Donations are made to 501(c) 3 charities for the benefit of children, animals, senior citizens and health care related research.
Since its inception, the Foundation has made more than 1300 donations, exceeding $3 million. In 2007, 334 donations were made, exceeding
$263,000. The Florida National Donation Center is directed by Geraldine. She sends the Foundation president, Avrum Katz, weekly
recommendations for seven donations, four of whom receive $1,000
and three receive $500. A representative sample of the weekly donation recommendations is attached.
KeyBank has custody of the assets of the Foundation, which presently exceed $4.7 million. The Foundation has virtually no liabilities. Yearly expenses are less than 2% of the assets. The president and trustees of the Foundation do not now and have never received any compensation.
50% of all donations are given to organizations related to animals. |
